Edwin Lou Javius, Ed.D. Executive Biography
Founder/President/ CEO

Equity is not a Strategy! It is a Mind-set! Dissatisfied by the un-changing narrowing of the racial achievement gap has been the driving force for Dr. Edwin Lou Javius. Advocating for students and school equity are two of the many talents of Edwin Lou Javius. Dr. Javius has established a reputation of inspiring educators to tackle the difficult issues of Educational Equity. From working in the system to working on the system, he has supported districts and school sites to design, implement, and sustain promising practices to close the achievement gap. The work of Dr. Javius has prompted educators to change the dialogue from achievement gap to closing the “Equity Gap.”

As the Founder/President/CEO of EDEquity Inc., an educational consultant firm, he has assembled a group of high quality and courageous educators to work with schools to implement culturally conscious classroom and school structures to engage all students.  As California’s first statewide School Administrator Valuing Diversity Award recipient 2001’, Javius has worked tirelessly with school districts to improve the quality of instruction to close the equity gap.  By implementing the key principles of Equity™; Awareness, Attitudes Analysis, Action and Accountability, educators have a systemic approach to improving student achievement for all students.

A graduate of University of California, Berkeley, Javius holds a master in Urban Leadership from Fresno Pacific University and a Doctorate in Urban School Leadership from the University of Southern California.
